E-bike rental
At the ticket office and arrival point of the Lake Maggiore ZIPline, there is an
e-bike rental point.
We have up to 10 adult e-bikes (sizes S, M and L) available for hire. The bike is the Atala B-CROSS CX400 (MTB FRONT Bosch Motor).
Helmets and handy backpacks are also included, as well as a repair kit.
The rental service is always available while the ZIPline is open, but it can also operate at other times if specifically requested.

Discover the itineraries
Discover the many routes for two wheels, including trails and over 35 km of flat military roads at a height of 1,200 m above sea level. They are all ideal for children, adults, novices and experienced cyclists.
Here’s a selection of itineraries you can follow, all starting from the rental point at the Lake Maggiore ZIPline. Choose the one that suits you best.
Family ride on the military road from Colle to Folungo
This figure-of-eight route winds along the recently restored and mostly flat military road, taking in exciting views and splendid panoramas around Lake Maggiore, the Po Valley, Monte Rosa and the Swiss Alps.
Mount Spalavera, the “disputed” mountain
The summit of Mount Spalavera, 1,533 metres above sea level, is a fantastic vantage point and is renowned for its incredible panoramic views of the horizon.
To get there, you will cycle along old military roads winding through fields, ancient meadows, beech and birch forests.
Marvel at the remains of trenches and pathways taking you deep into caves dug into the mountainside, military structures from the last century, a barracks, and a dug-in guard post hidden among the beech trees.
Beech and spruce on Pian Bello
This itinerary features a series of mighty beech, spruce and birch trees lining the pastures, all set in a stunning panorama between the Alps and Lake Maggiore.
This is a chain of four mountains, all in a line: the Tondone (1,243 m), Pian Bello (1,323 m), Cima Ologno (1,127 m) and the solitary Carza (1,116 m). The sunny side of the slopes faces the lake, while the other is covered with a carpet of shady beech forest.
An MTB ride along the Cadorna del Verbano Line
This is a fabulous MTB route with splendid panoramic views. Along the way, you’ll discover the two sides of the Verbano mountains. The sunny southern slope, covered with alpine pastures and meadows, offers a balcony over Lake Maggiore. The northern side, facing the Cannobina Valley, is darker and shadier, carpeted with a huge beech forest that suddenly opens up towards the rocky peaks of the Gridone.
Almost all of the route follows the recently restored military road known as “Strada Cadorna”.
Leaving your bike at Piè Zeda, it’s a 45-minute climb on foot to the top of Mount Zeda, one of the most scenic spots on Lake Maggiore.
Guided bike tours
The flat dirt roads of the Cadorna Line offer routes that are easily passable and within the reach of everyone: adults, children, experts and inexperienced.
However, if you want to organize a more structured hike with the accompaniment of a guide, you may have the opportunity to learn more about this beautiful area and explore historical, scenic, naturalistic and cultural aspects.
