GETTING HERE BY CAR

There are three access roads leading to the Lake Maggiore ZIPline. You can choose which route to take based on your starting location and your familiarity with driving on mountain roads. We’ve provided some useful info below.

Dall’autostrada A26 o comunque dalla Città di Verbania

  1. Take the SP59 road (Valle Intrasca), which from Cambiasca takes you to the town of Aurano. Continue as far as Alpe Segletta, where the Lake Maggiore ZIPline is located.
This is the shortest route. It’s a typical mountain road: narrow, with several hairpin bends.
This is the route automatically suggested by the satnav.
  2. Take the SP55 (Intra-Premeno) and continue on the SP56 (Premeno-Colle) until you reach the Terrazza Belvedere di Piancavallo (marked on Google Maps as “Terrazza belvedere sul Lago Maggiore”). At this point, turn left onto the SP59 and continue for about 2 km until you reach Alpe Segletta. This route is about 10 km longer than the previous one, but there are fewer twists and turns and it is a little wider than the road through the Intrasca Valley.
IMPORTANT: If you’re using a satnav and want to take this route, make sure to enter Premeno as an intermediate stop.

From Ticino or the towns of Cannobio and Cannero Riviera

  1. Take the SP64 (Cannero-Trarego) and continue along the SP92 (Trarego-Colle) up to Alpe Colle. Then continue in the direction of Piancavallo until you reach the Terrazza Belvedere di Piancavallo (marked on Google Maps as “Terrazza belvedere sul Lago Maggiore”). At this point, turn left onto the SP59 and continue for about 2 km until you reach Alpe Segletta. This is the shortest route. It’s a typical mountain road: narrow, with several hairpin bends (sometimes without guard rails).
This is the route automatically suggested by the satnav.
  2. Drive to the city of Verbania and then follow the directions of the routes described above.

GETTING HERE BY CAMPER VAN OR PRIVATE BUS

Because of the hairpin bends on the roads leading to the Lake Maggiore ZIPline, we strongly recommend that visitors arriving by camper van or private bus/coach follow the route from Verbania that passes through Premeno.

Please also remember the height and weight restrictions on the route:

  • from Pian di Sole to the Terrazza Belvedere di Piancavallo SP56 (marked on Google Maps as “Terrazza belvedere sul Lago Maggiore”), there is a limit of 14 t and 7.5 m in length
  • from the Terrazza Belvedere di Piancavallo (marked on Google Maps as “Terrazza belvedere sul Lago Maggiore”) to Alpe Segletta SP59, the weight limit is 8 t.

IMPORTANT: The last stretch of about 2 km, from the Terrazza Belvedere di Piancavallo to Alpe Segletta, has a fairly narrow carriageway. You may need to reverse back to the nearest passing place if there is a car coming the other way.

Camper vans and buses are not allowed to enter our car park. 200 m before the car park entrance, there is a parking area where buses can stop.
